Webinar | Countdown to MEPC 84: Analysis on Proposed Pathways

Ahead of the next round of IMO meetings in April, several Member State submissions outline potential pathways for advancing mid-term measures. These proposals include calls to adopt the IMO Net-Zero Framework (IMO NZF) as approved at MEPC 83, as well as suggestions for adjustments to its architecture, incentives, and implementation mechanisms.

In this context, there is a need for clear, neutral, evidence-based analysis of the different proposals. Using our Integrated Assessment Model, NavigaTE, the Mærsk Mc-Kinney Møller Center for Zero Carbon Shipping will provide insights into the potential impacts of these proposed pathways on emissions, costs, and other key outcomes.

This one-hour webinar will:

  • Introduce proposed pathways: IMO NZF as-is, and two amended versions of the Framework, one proposed by a group of Pacific Island states and another proposed by Liberia with Panama, and Argentina.

  • Provide analytical insights using our NavigaTE model.

  • Highlight development of guidelines that can support a global framework.

Please join us to learn more about the proposals currently on the table ahead of the April meetings.
