Impact Report 2023/2024

Showing the world it is possible

We are proud to announce the publication of the first-ever Impact Report from the Mærsk Mc-Kinney Møller Center for Zero Carbon Shipping.

The report highlights the Center’s progress and impact over the past two years. It offers insights into our key activities and performance, accompanied by a series of case stories that illustrate how we work and the results we have achieved.  Whether it is Green Corridors, Katalist or our work in ammonia safety, we strive to demonstrate what the maritime future could look like.

While the report provides a representative overview, it does not aim to be a comprehensive account of everything accomplished. The depth and breadth of our work simply cannot be fully captured in a single document. Instead, the report highlights selected examples intended to inspire and inform. The Center’s impact is exemplified in seven case stories covering all selected, strategic areas in our work programs.

Since the Center’s inception, we have built broad support across the maritime ecosystem and established ourselves as a collaboration platform driving the industry transition. Our work bridges technical expertise with the cross-disciplinary development of policies, business models, concrete concepts, standards, and other crucial building blocks for maritime decarbonization. By combining a systemic view on transition pathways with practical, scalable solutions, we empower industry-wide adoption in close collaboration with decision-makers from both the public and private sector.

We recognize that a systemic transition demands collective action — no single actor can solve this alone. That is why cross-sectoral collaboration and new alliances are at the core of everything we do. When the Center was founded, it began with seven strategic partners, but that number has grown to 23 strategic partners today and a total of over 100 partners organizations across four partner categories—spanning the entire maritime value chain—are actively engaged with the Center. Together, they represent the enablers needed to holistically address the challenges and opportunities. In the maritime transition

Four years after the Center’s establishment, we have built a strong global network of dedicated partners, uniting diverse geographies, competencies, sectors, and segments. Together, we share a mission
to show the world that sustainably decarbonizing the maritime industry by 2050 is possible.

We look forward to continuing this journey—together.
